How to Add a New Item

1. Click "Scan Item" on the dashboard
2. Take a photo or upload an image
3. Get instant AI analysis with pricing and market data
4. Click "Save & List" to add to inventory and create listings

Photo Tips

• Use good lighting - natural light works best
• Include multiple angles when possible
• Capture any labels, signatures, or maker's marks
• Show any flaws or damage for accurate condition assessment
• Photos are automatically compressed if too large

Item Hints

Adding hints helps the AI provide more accurate analysis:

• Brand - If you know the manufacturer or brand
• Artist/Designer - For art, pottery, or designer items
• Item Name - Specific model or product name
• Dimensions - Size measurements
• Condition - Your assessment of the item's condition
• Notes - Any other relevant information

Re-Analyzing Items

You can re-analyze an item at any time by clicking "Re-analyze" on the item page. This is useful if you've added new photos or updated the hints. Re-analysis counts toward your monthly item limit.

Comparable Sales

The AI provides comparable items from various platforms:

• Sold Comparables - Recently sold items with actual sale prices
• Listed Comparables - Currently active listings with asking prices

Image Actions

Primary actions are shown as buttons. Additional options (Replace, Download, Delete) are in the "More" menu.

• Remove Background

  AI-powered background removal for cleaner product photos. Can be undone.

• Rotate Left / Right

  Rotate images 90 degrees to fix orientation

• Replace Image

  Upload a new photo to replace the current one (in More menu)

• Delete

  Remove an image from the item (in More menu)

Reordering Images

Drag and drop thumbnails to reorder your images. The first image becomes the primary/cover photo. On mobile, tap and hold to drag.

Zoom View

Click any image or tap the "Zoom" button to view it full-screen. On mobile, swipe left/right to navigate between images.

Recording Purchase Information

When creating or editing an item, you can record:

• Purchase Price - What you paid for the item
• Source Location - Where you found it (thrift store, estate sale, etc.)
• Shipping Cost (Inbound) - If the item was shipped to you

Marking Items as Sold

When you sell an item, record the sale details:

• Sale Price - What the buyer paid
• Platform - Where you sold it (eBay, Bonanza, etc.)
• Shipping Cost (Outbound) - What you paid to ship it

Fee Calculation

Platform fees are calculated automatically:

• eBay - 13.25% final value fee (auto-calculated, or auto-synced from actual orders)
• Poshmark - 20% commission
• Mercari - 10% selling fee
• Facebook Marketplace - 5% selling fee
• Etsy - 6.5% transaction + 3% payment processing
• Other Platforms - Enter fees manually

Storage Locations

Create hierarchical storage locations to track where items are stored:

1. Go to Settings → Storage Locations
2. Click Add Location
3. Enter a name (e.g., "Garage - Shelf 1")
4. Optionally select a parent location for hierarchy

Custom Tags

Create tags to categorize items your way:

1. Go to Settings → Tags
2. Click Add Tag
3. Enter a name (e.g., "Needs Photos", "High Value")
4. Choose a color for visual organization

Assigning Tags & Locations

On any item page, use the sidebar to assign tags and storage locations. You can also use bulk operations from the dashboard to assign to multiple items at once.

Bulk Operations

From your dashboard, select multiple items to:

• Bulk Archive - Move sold or donated items to archive
• Bulk Delete - Remove items permanently
• Bulk Assign Tags - Add tags to multiple items
• Bulk Assign Location - Set storage location for multiple items

Editing Content

• Title - Optimized for search (80 characters max for eBay)
• Price - Set your asking price
• Description - Plain text description, works across all platforms
• Keywords - Click to copy individual keywords or copy all
• Revert - Discard changes and restore last saved version

Platform-Specific Options

Enabling 2FA

1. Go to Settings → Security
2. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication
3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.)
4. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to verify
5. 2FA is now enabled for your account

Logging In with 2FA

When 2FA is enabled, you'll need to enter a code after your password:

1. Enter your email and password as usual
2. Open your authenticator app
3. Enter the 6-digit code shown for Underpriced AI
4. You're logged in!

Disabling 2FA

To disable 2FA, go to Settings → Security and click Disable 2FA. You'll need to enter your password and a valid authenticator code to confirm.

Finding Your Referral Link

1. Go to Settings
2. Scroll to the Referral Program section
3. Copy your unique referral link or code

Sharing Your Link

Share your referral link with friends, family, and fellow resellers:

• Send directly via text or email
• Share on social media
• Post in reseller communities and Facebook groups
• Include in your YouTube or blog content

Earning Bonus Scans

• 5 bonus scans are added to your account for each signup
• Bonus scans are credited when your referral creates their account
• There's no limit to how many friends you can refer
• Bonus scans never expire

Ways to Scan

• Photo — Take a photo with your phone camera for instant analysis
• Gallery Upload — Upload an existing image from your photo library
• Batch Scan — Upload up to 10 photos at once, each scanned as a separate item. Toggle "Batch" mode on the scan page
• Browser Extension — Install the Chrome or Firefox extension to scan items directly from online auction listings or any webpage
• Scan from URL — Paste an image URL or listing URL on desktop and the app fetches and scans it

Scan vs Saved Items

CSV Export

Download all your scans or inventory items as a CSV file. Available from the Scan History page and the Items dashboard. Includes item names, brands, prices, descriptions, tags, and image URLs. Use it to import into cross-posting tools like Vendoo or Crosslist, or track inventory in a spreadsheet.

How It Works

1. Connect your eBay account in Settings
2. List items to eBay through Underpriced AI
3. When the item sells, we automatically sync the order details
4. Sale price, actual fees, and shipping charges are recorded
5. Your item is marked as SOLD and profit is calculated

What Gets Synced

• Sale Price - Actual amount paid by the buyer
• eBay Fees - Real marketplace fees (not estimates)

How to Use

1. Scan an item at a thrift store or estate sale
2. Scroll to the "Should I Buy It?" section
3. Enter what you'd pay and estimated shipping cost
4. See instant profit breakdown for eBay, Poshmark, and Mercari
5. Make a data-driven buy/pass decision on the spot

What You See

• Net Profit per Platform - After all fees and shipping
• ROI Percentage - Return on your investment

How Priority Scoring Works

Each item receives a priority score based on four factors:

• Age (30%) - How long you've owned the item
• Category Sell-Through Rate (25%) - How fast items in this category sell
• Profit Potential (30%) - Expected profit based on estimated value minus costs
• Value Density (15%) - Higher-value items get a small boost

Urgency Badges

• URGENT - List immediately (score 75+)
• HIGH - List soon (score 50-74)
• MEDIUM - List when time permits (score 25-49)
• LOW - Lower priority (score under 25)

How to Export

1. Go to the Analytics page
2. Click the "Tax Report" button
3. Select the tax year (defaults to current year)
4. Download your CSV

What's Included

• Per-item rows - Item name, sale date, revenue, COGS, fees, shipping, net profit
• Summary totals - Total revenue, total COGS, total fees, total shipping, net profit
• Unsold inventory - Total cost of items not yet sold (for COGS tracking)

Navigating to Analytics

Click Analytics in the main navigation to access your dashboard. The dashboard shows key metrics and allows you to drill down into detailed reports.

Available Reports

• Revenue & Profit - Track total revenue, costs, and net profit over time
• Category Performance - See which categories are most profitable
• Inventory Aging - Track how long items sit before selling
• Sourcing ROI - Analyze which sources give the best returns
• Tax Report Export - Download a Schedule C-ready CSV for tax season

Time Range Filtering

View analytics for any time period: Last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, this month, last month, this year, or a custom date range.

Browser Extensions

Scan items directly from online auction listings, eBay, or any webpage with an item photo. Available for both Chrome and Firefox.

PWA (Progressive Web App)

Add Underpriced AI to your home screen from any mobile browser for an app-like experience without downloading from an app store. Go to Settings for instructions or scan the QR code from a desktop.

Managing Your Subscription

Go to Settings to:

• View your current plan and usage
• Upgrade to Pro
• Manage billing (update payment, view invoices)
• Cancel subscription

Cancel vs Delete

Photography

• Use natural lighting when possible
• Include photos from multiple angles
• Capture maker's marks, labels, and signatures
• Show scale with a common object if size matters
• Document any flaws or damage

Better Identification

• Add hints if you know the brand or artist
• Include dimension information for furniture or art
• Mention any provenance or history you know
• Upload photos of any documentation or receipts

Pricing Strategy

• Check the Market Saturation indicator before pricing
• Use "Low" price for quick sales in saturated markets
• Use "High" price for rare items or patient selling
• Review comparable sales to understand the market

How accurate is the AI pricing?

Our AI uses real market data and comparable sales to estimate prices. Accuracy depends on image quality and how common the item is. Always verify with your own research for high-value items.

What counts as a "scan"?

Each time you scan an item or re-analyze a saved item, it counts as one scan toward your monthly limit. Scans you don't save still count toward your limit.

Can I edit the AI-generated content?

Yes! All titles, descriptions, and prices are fully editable. The AI provides a starting point that you can customize.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your images are stored securely in AWS S3. Platform connections use OAuth and don't store your passwords. You can disconnect platforms and delete your data at any time.

What happens to my listings if I cancel?

Listings already published to eBay remain on the platform - Underpriced AI doesn't delete them. If you cancel your subscription, your data is preserved until you explicitly delete your account.

Do you support international sellers?

Yes! While pricing is primarily based on US market data, the identification and listing features work globally. eBay connection works with international accounts.
