What sold and listed comparables are, where they come from, and how to use them to sanity check your price.
Your price estimate is not a guess. It is built from comparable sales: real listings for items like yours. Every unlocked scan shows them so you can check the math yourself.
Sold comparables vs listed comparables
- Sold comparables: recently sold items with the actual price a buyer paid. Your suggested price follows these.
- Listed comparables: currently active listings with the prices other sellers are asking.
Asking prices are often higher than what items really sell for. When active listings are asking noticeably more than things sell for, the result flags that gap so you are not fooled by a hopeful number.
Where the comps come from
Sold data is pulled from the source that knows each item best: eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, Facebook, Depop and auction archives for general resale, plus category specialists such as StockX and GOAT for sneakers, live watch market data for watches, PriceCharting for games, Sports Card Pro for trading cards, Discogs for vinyl, and first edition data for books. A first edition gets priced like a first edition, not lumped into one generic search.
How to use the comps on a result
- Open the scan result and scroll to the comparables.
- Click a comp link to open the original listing.
- Compare condition, variant and completeness against your item.
- Check the market saturation section: active listings, sold items and sell-through rate.
- Price toward the low end in a saturated market, toward the high end for rare items you can wait on.
Comps also feed the confidence score, so a result built on thin or inconsistent data will say so.

The first scan is free with no card, and it shows the item identification and a real value range. The exact price and the verified sold comps with clickable links unlock with any plan or credit pack. Packs start at $4 for 5 scans and plans start at $5 a month, on web or mobile.

- Can I see the actual sold listings behind my price?
- Yes. Unlocked scans include comparable sold listings with clickable links, so you can open each sale and check condition, variant and price yourself. Active listings are shown separately with their asking prices so you can compare what sellers want against what buyers actually paid.
- Why is the suggested price lower than what I see listed on eBay?
- Your estimate follows sold prices, which is what buyers actually paid. Currently listed items show asking prices, and those are often higher than real sale prices. Both are shown on the result, and a large gap between them is flagged for you.
- Can I share the comparable sales with a buyer?
- Yes. On any scan result, tap Share to get a public link. The recipient sees the item, the price range and the recent sold comparables without needing an account. You can share the link before or after you list the item.
