Inventory
Custom tags
Create colored tags in Settings and assign them to items so you can group your inventory by status, value or sourcing trip.
Tags let you group items your own way: by workflow status, by value, by sourcing trip, or by anything else that helps you work faster. Tags are part of the inventory tools on the Pro Plus and Business plans.
Create a tag
- Go to Settings, then Tags.
- Click Add Tag.
- Enter a name, for example "Needs Photos" or "High Value".
- Choose a color so the tag is easy to spot at a glance.
Keep the list short at first. Five or six tags you actually use beat twenty you ignore.
Assign tags to an item
- Open the item from your Items list on web or mobile.
- Use the sidebar on the item page to assign one or more tags.
- Remove a tag from the same place when the item moves on.
Tag many items at once
- Go to your dashboard.
- Select the items you want to update.
- Use bulk operations and choose bulk assign tags.
This is handy after a sourcing run: select everything from that trip and tag it in one pass.
Tag ideas that earn their keep
- Workflow status: "Needs Photos", "Needs Measurements", "Ready to List".
- Value: "High Value" for anything you want to price carefully before listing.
- Condition work: items that need cleaning or a repair before they can go live.
- Sourcing trip or source: group everything from one estate sale so you can see how that trip performed.
Tags in your exports
Tags are included when you export your items to CSV, so you can filter or pivot by tag in a spreadsheet. Pro Plus and Business also include advanced filtering in the app, and the dashboard export respects the filters you have applied, which means you can export just one tag's worth of items.
Tags and storage locations work well together: the tag says what still needs doing, the location says where the item is sitting while it waits.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I add tags to items in my inventory?
- Create the tag first in Settings, then Tags, using Add Tag. Then open any item from your Items list and assign the tag from the item page sidebar. To tag several items at once, select them on your dashboard and use bulk assign tags under bulk operations.
- Which plans include custom tags?
- Custom tags come with the inventory tools on Pro Plus at $24 a month and Business at $59 a month. Those plans also include storage locations, bulk operations and advanced filtering. Starter and Pro include scanning, listing and profit tracking, but not tags.
- Do tags show up when I export my inventory?
- Yes. The CSV export includes item names, brands, prices, descriptions, tags and image URLs, so you can sort and filter by tag in Excel or Google Sheets. The dashboard export also respects any filters you have applied before you click Export.
