Storage locations

Storage locations record where each item physically sits, so you are not digging through bins when something sells. They are part of the inventory tools included on the Pro Plus and Business plans.

Create a storage location

1. Go to Settings, then Storage Locations.
2. Click Add Location.
3. Enter a name, for example "Garage - Shelf 1".
4. Optionally select a parent location so the new one nests underneath it.
5. Repeat for every shelf, bin or room you use.

Because locations are hierarchical, you can make Garage the parent and put Shelf 1, Shelf 2 and Bin A underneath it. Start broad and add detail as your inventory grows.

Assign a location to one item

1. Open the item from your Items list on web or mobile.
2. Use the sidebar on the item page to assign a storage location.
3. The location stays on the item until you change it.

Assign a location to many items at once

1. Go to your dashboard.
2. Select the items you want to update.
3. Use bulk operations and choose bulk assign location.

This is the fast way to handle a sourcing trip: scan everything, pack it into one bin, then select the whole batch and set the location to that bin.

Tips for naming

• Name locations the way you would say them out loud, so they are easy to recognize later.
• If you sell out of more than one room, make each room a parent location.
• Pair a location with a tag when you need both a place and a status, for example "Garage - Shelf 1" plus a "Needs Photos" tag.

When items sell or get donated, select them on the dashboard and use bulk archive. Archiving keeps your active list focused on things you still physically have on the shelf.
