Manage item photos
Rotate, remove backgrounds, replace, delete, reorder and zoom the photos on a saved item, on web or mobile.
Once an item is saved, its photos are yours to clean up and reorder before you list. Primary actions appear as buttons on the image, and Replace, Download and Delete live in the More menu.
Clean up an image
- Remove Background: AI powered background removal for a cleaner product photo. It can be undone.
- Rotate Left / Rotate Right: turns the image 90 degrees to fix orientation.
Replace, download or delete
- Open the item and select the photo you want to change.
- Open the More menu on that image.
- Choose Replace to upload a new photo in its place, Download to save a copy, or Delete to remove it from the item.
Large photos are compressed automatically when you upload, so you do not need to resize anything first.
Reorder and set the cover photo
Drag and drop the thumbnails to change the order. The first image becomes the primary photo, which is the cover buyers see first. On mobile, tap and hold a thumbnail, then drag it into place.
Zoom in
Click any image, or tap the Zoom button, to view it full screen. On mobile, swipe left and right to move between images.
After you change photos
Adding better angles, a label shot or a maker's mark can change what the AI sees. If you want the identification and price rerun with the new photos, click Re-analyze on the item page. That counts as one scan toward your monthly limit.
Keep in mind that a single scan accepts up to 3 photos of the same item. A saved item can hold more photos than that for your listing, and the extra photos publish with the listing even though they were not part of the original analysis.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I remove the background from a product photo?
- Open the item, select the photo, and use Remove Background. It is AI powered background removal made for cleaner product shots, and it can be undone if you prefer the original. Rotate Left and Rotate Right are next to it for fixing orientation.
- How do I change which photo is the cover?
- Drag and drop the thumbnails on the item to reorder them. The first image becomes the primary or cover photo. On mobile, tap and hold a thumbnail until it lifts, then drag it to the front of the row.
- Can I add more photos to an item I already scanned?
- Yes. A saved item can hold more photos than the 3 a single scan accepts, and you can replace or delete individual images from the More menu. If you want the price rerun using the new photos, use Re-analyze, which costs one scan.
