Manage item photos

Once an item is saved, its photos are yours to clean up and reorder before you list. The buttons sit in the photo's top-left corner: always visible on a phone, shown on hover on a computer.

Clean up an image

• Remove background: the eraser button cuts out the item and puts it on a plain white background. A Restore original button undoes it.
• Rotate left and Rotate right: turn a photo that came out sideways, 90 degrees at a time.

There is no crop or filter tool, so fix framing on your device before you upload.

Replace, download or delete

1. Open the item and tap the photo you want to change so it fills the large view.
2. Tap the three-dot More actions button on that photo.
3. Choose Replace Image to upload a new photo in its place, Download to save a copy, or Delete to remove it from the item.

Large photos are compressed automatically when you upload, so you do not need to resize anything first.

Reorder and set the cover photo

Tap a photo, open More actions, and choose Make main photo to send it to the front, or Move left and Move right to shift it one place. On a computer you can also drag the thumbnails into order. The first image is the main photo, the one buyers see first.

Zoom in

Click any image, or tap the Zoom button, to view it full screen. On mobile, swipe left and right to move between images.

After you change photos

Adding better angles, a label shot or a maker's mark can change what the AI sees. If you want the identification and price rerun with the new photos, click Re-analyze on the item page. That counts as one scan toward your monthly limit.

Keep in mind that a single scan accepts up to 12 photos of the same item, the first 3 of which set the price. A saved item can hold more photos than that for your listing, and the extra photos publish with the listing even though they were not part of the original analysis.
