Apps and account

Two-factor authentication

Turn on 2FA with an authenticator app, sign in with a 6-digit code, and disable it again if you need to.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to your login, so a stolen password is not enough to get into your account. It is available on all plans.

Enable 2FA

  1. Go to Settings, then Security.
  2. Click Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. Google Authenticator, Authy and 1Password all work.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code your authenticator app shows to verify it.
  5. 2FA is now enabled for your account.

Save your backup codes somewhere secure while you are here. If you lose access to your authenticator app, a backup code lets you log in and reset your 2FA settings.

Logging in with 2FA on

  1. Enter your email and password as usual.
  2. Open your authenticator app.
  3. Enter the 6-digit code shown for Underpriced AI.
  4. You are in.

The code changes every few seconds, so if it is rejected, wait for the next one and try again. Your account is the same on every device, so the same code process applies whether you are on the web, the iOS app or the Android app.

Disable 2FA

Go to Settings, then Security, and click Disable 2FA. You will need to enter your password and a valid authenticator code to confirm. You can enable it again later at any time with a fresh QR code.

Codes by text are not us

If you are asked to verify a phone number by text during checkout, that prompt comes from Stripe Link, our payment processor, not from Underpriced AI. It is optional and skippable: enter your card details directly to finish. We never require phone verification, and we do not see or store your phone number from that step. Our 2FA uses an authenticator app only.

While you are thinking about security: platform connections such as eBay use OAuth, so we never see or store your marketplace passwords, and your images are stored in encrypted AWS S3 storage.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
Go to Settings, then Security, and click Enable Two-Factor Authentication. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 1Password, then enter the 6-digit code to verify. 2FA is available on all plans, including pay as you go credits.
What if I lose access to my authenticator app?
Use one of the backup codes you saved when you enabled 2FA. A backup code lets you log in and then reset your 2FA settings from Settings, then Security. Keep those codes somewhere safe and separate from your phone. If you have none left, contact support.
Does Underpriced AI send login codes by text message?
No. Login codes come from your authenticator app, not by text. If you see a text verification prompt at checkout, that is Stripe Link, our payment processor. It is optional: enter your card details directly instead. We never require phone verification for your account.
